Introducing Mariana Encapsulated! She has finally fully arrived in all of her wholeness. Each canvas is a blank page in which a new story is written. Myself, injustice, the world and all of its intricacies and creatures are all woven into each canvas. Not only self portraits but each piece in this series showcases humanity and the interconnectedness of all things. We are not singular, we are part of the whole. Everyday we choose to uplift or breakdown, to advocate or remain silent, to deplete or to replenish. Over many months of painting this new human so much has happened in my life and in the world. There have been new arrivals, departures, chaos, injustice, grief, celebrations, love, and joy. What you are seeing is an unfolding. Each new painting in this series is a new page, a new chapter of the story. A blank canvas in which I write upon with consistently broadening brush strokes.
