Solomiya

Solomiya 24×48 Acrylic on canvas

INTRODUCING Solomiya! I just came to the realization that I never officially introduced this old soul out into the world. So much has taken place since her arrival. The majority of this painting was created at the New Bedford Art Museum during my ten week artist residency which ran from late December through early February. The war in the Ukraine broke out and needless to say some additions were inspired by the tensions within our world. The name Solomiya is a Ukranian name with a Hebrew origin meaning Peace, or a woman of peaceful nature.

This new work along with four other were part of an CAIR Artist In Residence Alumni show that ran for six months and came down in November of 2022. I was grateful to be a part of this amazing show with so many other talented artists.

Stay tuned for new work arriving in the New Year! Also save the date April 15th for my next show opening showcasing five large works with eight other women artists at The Narrows Center For The Arts in Fall River. More info to follow soon! ✌🏽💜🌞
