After eight months in the works and so much life happening in between I’m proud to introduce Navishem into the world. The red canvas started boldly after recovering from major surgery, there were many life transformations including love, loss, grief, successes, war and everything in between. As I have stated on many occasions these humans are representations of all of humanity but are very personal self portraits as well. They truly represent the interconnectedness of all things for me. Just red

Just green

Just ivory

Brown

Just tan

So much more than

Just woman

Or man

You see

I am energy

I am color

I am light

Dark globs

Within palettes

Splashes of bright

I am many thickened layers

Tertiary colors of paint

Neither a demon

Nor a saint
